- 1⁄4 cup kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 1 tbsp. tamarind concentrate (can substitute with lime juice)
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
- 1 chili pepper, stemmed and sliced thin
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add beans and cook until just tender, about 4 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold running water. Drain again and transfer to a large serving platter.
- Blanch the sliced cabbage in the same boiling water for about 1 minute, drain, and rinse in cold running water. Arrange the cabbage alongside the green beans on the platter.
- Place the cubed tofu and bean sprouts in separate small bowls and set aside.
- In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the peanut butter, kecap manis, tamarind concentrate, brown sugar, garlic, and chili pepper. Add water little by little until the sauce has the desired texture.
- Arrange the cucumber, carrot, red onion, and hard-boiled egg around the platter. Serve with peanut sauce on the side. To eat, each guest can spoon some peanut sauce over their plate and enjoy!
