rumah adat fola sowohi Javanese home design

As you all may know, I love exploring different cultures and one of my favorite things to do is admire traditional homes. Recently, I stumbled upon some beautiful pictures of traditional homes in Sumatera Barat and Java Timur and I just had to share them with you all. First up, we have the traditional home of Sumatera Barat, commonly known as Rumah Gadang. This magnificent home is not only beautiful but also holds significant meaning. Rumah Gadang, which means "big house," represents the matriarchal society of the Minangkabau people. The home is built on stilts and the roof has the shape of a buffalo horn, which symbolizes the prosperity and strength of the Minangkabau people. The interior of the home is also carefully crafted to represent the Minangkabau culture, with intricate carvings and woven textiles. Moving on to Java Timur, we have the Javanese Home Design. The Javanese people also have a unique way of building their homes, with a mix of traditional and modern elements. The Javanese home is called Joglo, and it usually has a central hall that is surrounded by smaller rooms. The roof of the Joglo is also an impressive sight, with a high-pitched pyramid shape that represents the Javanese beliefs in the spiritual realm. The interior of the Joglo is also adorned with beautiful carvings and batik textiles. Now, let's talk about the recipe I have for you all today. In honor of these beautiful homes, I thought it would be fitting to share a traditional Indonesian recipe. Today, we will be making Gado-gado, a colorful and refreshing salad that is perfect for any occasion. Ingredients: - 2 cups bean sprouts - 2 cups shredded cabbage - 1 cucumber, thinly sliced - 1 small carrot, julienned - 2 hard-boiled eggs, sliced - 1 cup fried tofu, cut into small cubes - 1 cup fried tempeh, cut into small cubes - 1 cup peanut sauce - 1 tbsp soy sauce - 1 tbsp tamarind paste - 1 tsp palm sugar - 1 clove garlic, minced - 1 red chili, sliced - Salt and pepper, to taste Instructions: 1. Boil the bean sprouts and shredded cabbage for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside. 2. In a small bowl, mix together the peanut sauce, soy sauce, tamarind paste, palm sugar, garlic, and red chili. 3. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked vegetables, sliced cucumber, julienned carrot, sliced hard-boiled eggs, cubed fried tofu, and cubed fried tempeh. 4. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. 5. Serve the Gado-gado and enjoy! I hope you all enjoyed learning about these traditional homes and trying out this delicious Indonesian recipe. Just remember, culture and cuisine are beautiful ways to bring people together and celebrate our differences.
